While listening to On Point this evening, I set a goal: speak more fluidly in public than Barak Obama. He seems like a nice guy, and should he run for President of the United States, he’ll be someone to consider. But in the ten minutes I heard him answering callers’ questions, he used so many connector/filler words, like “uh,” “so,” and “and.” I’m sure he’s better at prepared speeches.
Perhaps I should have set my public speaking goals higher?

Find the pumpkin, win a prize.
I haven’t carved a pumpkin since I was a kid; it’s lots of fun. I should have probably cut out more room under the jib (front sail) to better communicate the sailboat image.
A few days before the big event, I was thinking about carving Tux, but a friend chose that. More carving photos online as well.
